Title: killing the mail server

How would one go about killing all mail server components on esmith. ( my ISP does not allow me to operate a mail server)  bummer...
any info would help...

I think - if you dont enter any setup details for email then it wont be active.

I know my isp allows mail, ftp, web or any other type of server. I suppose that they don't mind all that much. I just keep on trucking with a heapin' helpin' of dyndns.org and my lil' four-one-two. If anyone out there cares to elaborate on why i should worry, I'm all ears.

oops... correction - the isp does NOT allow servers.

hello john, why dont you try to use the services module on e-smith it allows you to start or stop various services running, that way you can stop the required servers from running. ( i dont know if this will really help)

I am sorry, but I have not had a chance to learn about that module...   any info would help
