Title: Virtual domain e-mail
Post by: MarcB on August 16, 2001, 04:22:14 AM
I think I'm missing something here. I can't seem to find info on  e-mail for virtual domains.  I'm not looking for an alias. I want to know if e-smith supports something like virtual POP's. I have my server set up as mycompany.com and a virtual domain as mycompany2.com. Both webpages work fine. I would like to recieve mail for boss@mycompany2.com by logging in to mail.mycompany2.com. Is this possible? Mabey with vmailmgr I could do this? Any help would be appreciated.

With the current arrangement, boss@mycompany2.com is the same as boss@mycompany.com.  You can receive mail for boss@mycompany2.com by logging in to mail.mycompany2.com (assuming the correct DNS records are set up--that is, assuming that mail.mycompany2.com resolves to your e-smith box) or to mail.mycompany.com.

Thanks, Dan. That solves my problem for now. I'll try to get more sleep next time before I rtfm.
I also would like to know if there's a way to address something like sales@mycompany1.com  and sales@mycompany2.com and make them go to different user accounts. Basically, I want to host two different companies on the same server, and have that run transparently for the virtual company.
