Title: NetGear FA311
Post by: IS on August 24, 2001, 01:04:46 AM
Hi,

I've got some problems to install a NIC Netgear FA311.
I've installed the RPM avaible in the contributions (thank you Charlie Brady).
I've installed "manually" the driver with the howto "How to manually set network card drivers".

No errors but ... no network too !

With "ifconfig" I can't see "eth0" (only "lo")

Did you already install this card ?

Thanks for your help.

to get a netgear fa311 to work with redhat 7.0 and products based on redhat 7.0 i had to follow the instructions found on the netgear site.  i also had to download the correct object file as the one that comes with the NIC was for kernel 2.2.15 not 2.2.16
basically all it was was copying the fa311.o file into /lib/modules/2.2.16-22/net/
and then run insmad fa311.o

without the right sersion though i was running around in circles forever.
