Title: SME server v5
Post by: Alejandro on August 29, 2001, 09:35:57 PM
Hi there!
Could anyone tell me where I can get sme server v5 (iso image or anything)
It was promised to continue open source, and assuming it's being sold at mitel web site with the support package as value add, there should be a concerning about us...poor e-smith users that where tempted to migrate our servers to e-smith and now... as it seems, we are encouraged to buy this exellent new package, with support and etc..etc, it is a kind of treaky for me, at least.
I have read many posts about this subject, but SME does not show it's "free" face yet   but the sales info does show in fact!!!!

http://www.mitel.com/products/product.cfm?p_id=76

Will we be able to stay with SME or shall we migrate to another "promissed free land"
In the last case, this forums are going to disapear, without all the excellent people we have learned from, and tryed to help.

I'm pretty sure the initial release said something about "available in two weeks".  Have some patience.

Dan, I promise trying to be patient, but I think I'have turned into an e-smith adict, and i'm affraid to caught "e-smith abstinece syndrome" ;-)
Thanks for the answer!
Ale.

Actually, I've found that statement:

http://www.e-smith.com/news/releases/news_220801.php

"SME Server V5 with ServiceLink may be ordered immediately from authorized systems integrators and resellers, and ***will ship in mid-September.*** "
