Title: e-smith 4.1.x and kernel updates

I note that their have been no kernel updates for e-smith 4.1.x, despite three or four being released for the equivalent Red Hat distribution (7.0). Is this deliberate? There's quite a lot fixed in the latest Red Hat kernels - the DMA corruption problem, for example.

Is it possible to install the latest Red Hat kernel, or will this break something?

Maybe you should wait until the next upcomming release, which is expected to be released within 2 week, so your efforts will not be lost.
