Title: Re-enabling PPTP
Post by: Bobby on August 31, 2001, 12:57:51 AM
Hi:
I ran the command:
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/disable-external-services
because I didn't want any web pages etc visible to the outside world. It works great. However, now I'd like to use the vpn & PPTP seems to have been affected by this too. Does anyone know if there is a way to re-enable just PPTP? If not, do I just run enable-external-services? Thanks for any advice.
Bobby

Hi,

As far as i know there is no command enable-external-services, what you could try is, running the commands;

/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

Then in the e-smith-manager re-setup PPTP connections, in the "Remote Access" section.

Don;t know if this will work, but it's worth a try,

Let me know how it goes,

Rob.

Thanks for the suggestion, it didn't work though. I realized as soon as I hit the post button that of course there was no enable-external command, just a lapse...
I'll let you know if I figure it out.
Thanks,
Bobby
