Title: Upgrade from RedHat 7.1 to E-Smith
Post by: Gontran on September 04, 2001, 09:43:36 AM
Hi,

I tried E-Smith on a new computer and I find very interressant...However I want now to upgrade "easily" my actually Linux Server (RedHat 7.1) to the E-Smith.
Is it possible to do quickly without lost of my old configuration (user's accounts, directory, partitions...) ?

If someone knows, could he help me ?

Thanks for all

NO.
The install of e-smith will overwrite all of your data, and partitions, etc. I don't know of any upgrade path. If you have a lot of users, there are some unsupported scripts availible in the contrib section that have had favorable reviews.
