Hi,
I use e-smith as a mail server with the latest update, The Outlook Express client was setup using IMAP server, This morning when I check e-mail, The IMAP account display only one mail, all my old mail was gone, when I check the mail through the web, the old mail is still there, all the LAN computer's outlook express got this problem, If I change the account to POP3, I can retrive mail with no problem. Does anyone know what happend here?

I just got the patch update from e-smith, it is a bug, see the new e-smith announcement.

The bug report and fix apply to 4.1.2. We are using 4.1. Does anyone know if it can be applied to 4.1 because we had the same problem.

After having experienced the IMAP problem, I found Charlie Brady message about the fix and the recovery procedure.
I went to the E-Smith FTP site and found the fix for ESSG 4.0. It has the same version number of the 4.1.2 one but a bumped up build version, so I guess that it's substantially the same package.
I installed it on my ESSG 4.0.1, followed the IMAP account deletion and recreation procedure and now it works like a charm again.
Thank to E-Smith folks for their continued support for older versions.

The bugfix doesn't solve the problem here...even after restarting the server...
What now???????

if you are still having the problem in outlook express then it is an OUTLOOK EXPRESS PROBLEM... delete the account IN outlook express and re-add it.
