OK I have not seen any responses about changing the defualt home folder for a user, so I am going back to my original issue of running services on a server behind E-smith.
I have figured out that I will need to mess with ipchains to do this. I have been studying the ipchain setup, but E-smith seems to have a different setup. Normal ipchain commands should be found in /etc/rc.d/rc.local or /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit, but I do not see any settings in these files under E-smith. Could someone point me to the files that E-smith uses to configure ipchains. I think if I can locate the files that I can figure out how to forward incoming packets on a certain port to an internal machine.
If anyone else has worked through this and would like to post their findings, that would be great.
Thanks
Scott

There is a contributed RPM that can help you do this.
