I've just upgraded 4.12 to 5.0 +update1
but as per my post elsewhere (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=11535.msg43400#msg43400)
fetchmail does not work via multi-drop. (incoming mail is collected externally at our hosting company and downloaded via ADSL).
Until I figure out how to make it work is it possible to install 4.12 as an "upgrade" to reset my system to 4.12 or is this a stupid idea?!
I need the fetchmail to work within the next 10 hours so that my staff can get their emails when they start work on Monday morning (UK).
Any ideas/suggestions gratefully accepted.

/etc/startmail called from /etc/crontab does not work.
have crontab call /etc/fetchmail instead..
Let me know if this works for you.. I do have to get to setting up a custom-template for this.
to test try as root /etc/startmail ...
I get errors [can't try it now I don't want to mess with our system]. Post the error here if you get it.
then try /etc/fetchmail & .

See http://www.e-smith.org/release/5.0/status/ for a fix for this and some other critical mail problems with SME Server 5.0.
