This seems to be definitely an e-smith firewall related question.
I want to access a service via https, which runs on port 10000 (Webmin). The service is not running on an e-smith server. I try to access the service THROUGH an e-smith gateway.
Directly from the workstation, WITHOUT e-smith, works.
From the e-smith server console, using lynx, it works.
From other networks, without e-smith, it works too.
From a workstation via the e-smith gateway, it DOESN'T work.
I think, that there is some configuration option, which disables https on port 10000. Internet banking does work perfect through this e-smith installation, so it has to be the combination of https and port 10000.
Where can I enable this to work?
Please don't tell me, that I have to use port 443 for https. It's not true. The https/10000 combination works from elsewhere.
And yes, I already searched the forums for that.

You need to setup port forwarding, there is a howto on this.

I understand port forwarding as a service for the providing server. The secure server is a non-e-smith server. Everything there works perfect. Only when I access it THROUGH (not ON) the e-smith firewall, it doesn't work.
So I think this is not a port forwarding question.
Perhaps it is an ipchains or iptables question.sage wrote:
