Hi there,
I've recently 'borrowed' a copy of Windows XP Professional form a friend.
I upgraded my win2K station, wich was a domain member of SMEV5 with dan B. upgrade to samba 2.2.1a.
Now I can not logon to the domain anymore. No domain server found. I took my winxp off the domain by changing to local workgroup, and joined the domain again with success (Welcome to the linux-zone domain). After the reboot I still cannot join the domain, same reason, no domain server found.
Anybody any idea? or do I have to upgrade to samba 2.2.2 to use winxp clients?
Thanks for any comment.

Hi Steve,
I did, as I mentioned, I joined the domain again with sucess. But after the required reboot of winxp I get 'there is no domain controller...etc'
Maybe I understand you incorrect. If so, please explain your suggestion.
Thanks for your reply,

Steve,
ps. You ARE talking about Dan's How-To of sept 27 2001 ?

See the note about editing the registry.
I'll e-mail Dan and Darrell the registry file to link to... It may be eaisier than replying to everyone direct ^_^

Hi Craig,
I'm a bit confused here. I can't seem to find the 'note' mentioned by steve in Dan Brown's samba upgrade How-To and also can't find any 'note' mentioning anything about a registry key.
Are we talking about the same How-To? I used this one..

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

THIS is the how-to you are talking about. I adjusted the registry key's and voila!
I'm back on the domain again.
Thanks for your efforts to help!

ps. Maybe the two how-to's can migrate into a only 1 'official' How-to?
