Title: Anyone try/using Samba 2.2.2?
Post by: Patrick Basile on October 19, 2001, 08:13:41 AM
Hello everybody,

I know it was just released by the Samba developement team, and that SME V5 doesn't even have an "official" release of 2.2.1a yet (even though I know they are hard at work on it), but has anyone (or is anyone) setup 2.2.2 on an ESSG 4.1.2 or SME V5 server yet?  if so, what has the experience been like?  Any tips/ideas on setting it up?

Thanks.

Patrick

Wow...I have been following Darrell's stuff pretty close, don't know when the 2.2.2 stuff got posted there, but I'm not going to complain.

Thanks, guys.  Sure hope this solves my file locking issues - if not I will still have to make some custom i-bays to handle locking.

Regards,
Patrick

Patrick,

I don't believe much of anything has changing in the way of file locking from Samba 2.2.1a to Samba 2.2.2.  What kind of issue(s) are you having?   There are a few "tweaks" you can make to Samba to help.

Regards

Greg.
