Does anyone know how I can set my E-Smith server to run FTP? I have a user account on my server which I access on a Windows 2000 PC in the same room. I would like to be able to connect to my E-Smith via the internet using FTP with my user log on that I am currently using on my Windows 2000 PC.
Any ideas???
Please email me if you know how this is done at e.lord@verizon.net
Thanks,
Eric

Did you check the e-smith manager -> remote access..... ?

Yes, I am able to access the e-smith locally, but no via the internet from another computer...I'm using a cable modem with a static ip, so it should work...

Portforwarding..?

If your ESSG is connected to the cable modem directly, it is possible that your ISP is blocking access to the FTP port. Pay a visit to www.grc.com and do a port probe to see if your FTP port shows up as open or not.
If it is Open, confirm that your have set FTP access to Public in the ESSG manager.
Good luck.
