Title: Squid
Post by: Nate on October 24, 2001, 12:39:37 AM
Is it possible to block internet access (direct connection to the internet) for users on the network and force them to use squid as the only means of connection?

Just a thought.

Don't set the default gateway on the client to the e-smith box.

A gentleman by the name of Trevor Oullette incorporated some work from a few different areas:

Transparent Proxy - I don't know who put that together.
SquidGuard - Put together from e-smith by Darell May

and did some things like automatically updating the up-to-date list of sites that should be blocked and made it a much easier install.  Check out the following, I know I really appreciate everyone's work and it seems to work great!!!
