I want to have fetchmail download email from several accts and at the same time have email sent directly via snmp to my e-smith box. I only have the choice of one or the other. I can set it up manually, but I am hoping there is a more elegant way.
Thanks

snmp or SMTP ?

I think you are refering to the SMTP host box on manager, this is for outgoing mail.
Incomming via SMTP will connect directly to you e-smith box.
(Just make sure you have the virtual domains set up for every domain you want to receive email for)
Try searching for multi-fetch. - This will allow you to fetch email from more than one pop3 account.

So having email for my domain sent to my e-smith box will still work if I
use multi-fetch as well? I was under the impression that the e-smith
manager made the two options mutually exclusive. I am aware on a generic
linux box that you can run fetchmail and sendmail at the same time. I am
looking to get it to work using qmail and fetchmail on the e-smith box.
My setup is as follows:
I have my domain, mycompany.com. I want email for this domain delivered
directly via smtp to my e-smith box. I also have some users that want to have
fetchmail gather email from various pop3 email accounts and have it delivered to
their mycompany.com email account.
Has anyone done this in a e-smith friendly way? I now I can change the crontab
and have fetchmail run on its' own however, I want the changes I make to survive
an e-smith upgrade.
Thanks
Jeff
