Post by: steve on October 26, 2001, 11:39:17 PM
I am confused with the differing sources on info. Is there a definative upto date set of install instruction for Hylafax ?

I am sure this is a much used add-on - how about a blade

When you follow te 'offical' How-To, it should work perfectly...

There are many different update to the individual packages, but stick to a complete working package and freeze it, so you can fax! An update of some package doesn't mean you (or your users) can benefit from it.

If you follow the How-To you can replac the Beta version Hylafax with the currecnt official release. The only different for you will be that at some point it will refer to /var/spool/fax and for the currecnt release for Hylafax it will be /var/spool/hylafax

Hi,

Thanks for reply. Is that the document by 'Ernst Bergen' under the contributed Hortos ? It refers to 4.4.x and some files seem difficult to obtain.

I am using that and a script found in the forum.

Is that the best info ?

On www.hylafax.org are also links about specific installation on e.g. RedHat 7.0. Please read these together with the How-To so you get a better understanding.

There are other postings in these forums (e-smith) about Hylafax and installing it.

Please do a search on 'Hylafax'

Thanks again,

Yes the search was me first port of call. So much mixed up information. No definitive set up for version 5. Hence my original post.

Files seem difficult to obtain gives the impression of out of date info.

Anyway i will have a go.
