Title: RAID error on shutdown
Post by: Charles Harmon on October 27, 2001, 08:21:32 AM
Can anyone shed some light on why I get the following error on a reboot or shutdown:

Turning off RAID for /dev/md1  md1 still mounted
Umounting /dev/md1 Device or Resource Busy {[FAILED]

I am using SME 5 Update 2 with 2 20GB Drives and software RAID.  The drives are /dev/hda and /dev/hdc.  The installer created the RAID set fine and everything appears to be working fine with the exception of the error above on a reboot or shutdown.

Sorry can't help yet but we discovered the exact same thing on a system we set up two days ago.  We're using SME 5 Update 2 and an Adaptec 2940U2W controller with two IBM Ultrastore 18 Gb SCSI drives using software RAID.  No negative effects have been detected but it is disconcerting.  If we find a solution before you, we'll let you know and it is hoped that you'll do the same.
