Hi,

I've had the same problem with Redhat 7.0, I found the problem to be a dodgy harddisk.

Alexie,

I had this problem before as well but it was due to bad RAM. If you had your ESSG running before the RAM upgrade and only now have the problem AFTER putting in more RAM, I'll be inclined to think you may have RAM problems (not necessarily bad RAM, maybe just mismatched RAM if you added more to existing modules).

Best of luck.

I got this too after adding ram.  It was on a k6 which takes sims and dimms.  I added one 168 pc100 along with the 32 mb of 72 pin.  It worked ok but got occasional kernel panics, so I took out the 32 megs and all is good on the 128 pc100
Besides ram costs 25 dollars for 256 megs.  Less than an hours work  Change your ram first rather than the HD
