Title: Where do I put ip_nat_irc.c
Post by: Marcus Giles on November 03, 2001, 06:12:47 PM
I want to fully enable the complete abilities of irc on my network, and I was told the most likly reason I was having issue's was I didn't have ip_nat_irc.c installed.
Now I have it what do I do with it...?

ip_nat_irc.c is a module for the 2.4 kernel. It doesn't work with the 2.2.19 kernel which is used in the SME Server. The SME server comes with the ip_masq_irc module which is the equivalent masquerade module for the 2.2 kernel, and it is loaded by default, so you shouldn't need to do anything special.

You haven't said exactly what problems you are having with IRC, so it is unlikely that anyone will be able to help you.

Regards

Charlie

Thanks Charlie, The problems I'm having is that I cant get machines that sit behind the SME server to DCC send.
I've already played with the suggested settings on the Mirc client, to no avail.
Way back when I used to make my own RH net servers I'm pretty sure it was a Port thing, now I dont know.
If I was to enable some ports through the SME server where would I find that config file?
