Title: Firewall rules for email
Post by: Jaime Nebrera on November 07, 2001, 10:59:14 AM
Hi all,

I have just a couple of questions regarding the firewall rules that come with ESGS 4.1.2

I see the SMTP port is open to the Internet. I just want to know if it needs so in the 3 email modes (standar, etrn and multidrop). I understand it does for standar mode but I'm not sure if it needs to be open for etrn and multidrop.

Also, I have read in a Linux Security Book that they recomend to close the auth port to the Internet. I have seen that this port is open in ESGS, does it need to? Will affect the server if I close it?

  Thanks for your help.

  Regards.
