Post by: Sid on November 08, 2001, 10:34:04 AM
Hello,

Has anyone used a soyo sy-seh5 motherboard with k6 2 550mhz to run SME v5 ?

I am having trouble trying to get it to work right with SME v5.

Hi Sid

This may not be the M/board  it could be the chip set AMD k2 550Mhz had lots of Probs were as the 500 was OK.  If you can, try changing the chip set for any other speed other than 550Mhz

Does that mobo have the ETEQ chipset?  I have a soyo mobo with AMD 300 or 350?  It goes into "kernel panic" often.  The ETEQ chipset works just fine with the VIA chipset drivers under windoze but it appears to be very problematic under LINUX.  I tried several boards with this ETEQ chipset and NONE seem to be stable.  Anyone else have better luck?  I set these boards aside for a "rainy day" project.
