Title: NFS on e-smith 4.1.2
Post by: Karl W. Mueller on November 08, 2001, 05:24:47 PM
Tried to install nfs on my personal e-smith box because I have two dos-clients there.

When I start the the packet-driver and the xfstools I can ping my server but I cant login. I allways get the "unregistered RPC request" information.

I installed NIS and NFS and made all corrections mentioned in the NIS-howto. The only rpm i couldnt find, was the e-smith-base-4.0.12-31.rpm

Can anybody give me some advice?

Make sure you have portmapper running, on e-smith box you should be able to run rpcinfo -p and nfs/nfslock should be listed.....

Get the relevant portmap rpm from the relevant redhat release, eg 7.0 for e-smith 5.0
