Title: LDAP Password
Post by: Jon on November 10, 2001, 05:34:49 AM
Hello,

I'm trying setup phpgroupware to pull the users from ldap. I keep running into the same problem over and over again. something about "failed to authenticate".
I would like to know if there is a way to change the LDAP password. I know that the password is randomly generated and that the LDAP password is also the root password for MySQL. I just need to know how to change it.
Thanks.

sorry no answers, just questions:
how does the rootdn and rootpw in /etc/openldap/slapd.conf relate to randomly generated passwords?   or is it a one time randomly generated password which ends up in above file?   if you change would you have to revise webmail (if you want to use that)?   does phpgroupware _expect_ to be configured to bind as (ldap) root?  or as some other entity (within its own schema)?
