Title: 5.0 Upgrade
Post by: Derek on November 20, 2001, 08:29:41 PM
Hello,

I have a 4.1.1 server that has about 60 user accounts and groups. It is the PDC for the network. It also has a buch of contrib rpms installed. Specifically these ones:

- System Monitor
- Raid Monitor
- SSH Webconsole

I want to upgrade to 5.0 but I am worried that the contrib rpms are going to break the upgrade. I don't want to have to rebuild the server from scratch. Has anyone had any experience upgrading under similar circumstances?

TIA

Derek

Hi Derek,

I had different rpm's installed on 4.1.2 and performed an upgrade. NO problems at all. The update procedure doesn't seem to effect the presence of contrib rpm's.

After the upgade they where all there functioning well.

Just in case, do it on a friday around 5 p.m. .......

Good luck!

Thanks, that's encouraging to know.

Did your system have software raid installed?
