What is it about? It is not even listed on the www.e-smith.org web site!
-
Don't even try it !
All I can get from samba now is the Primary ibay ! and because I've forced the upgrade back to SP2 ... But I someone knows the list of the new packages included, I could use it to get rid of them !
-
Are Samba templates even part of this new blade? I didn't see the e-smith-samba-x.xx.rpm in the list of rpms that the blade installs.
Incidentally, I couldn't even get the blade to install, so I'm not certain that the samba fragments aren't included in another package.

I upgraded to v.3 and didnt had any problem..
But I wont reboot my server now :D
-
I tried installing it and it would not install completely. It then told me it was installed. I know very well it can't be fully installed. Perhaps a release 4 to fix the release 3 problems?

ditto with me steve...timed out, but says its installed

I usually them FTP from e-smith but did not see Update3 directory, just 1 and 2. Does anyone know where they can be downloaded?
-
Humm seems there is a bug :D
Hop I didnt crash my server.. I just got everything back :)
-
I did an upgrade. - It worked! OK! So Microsoft IE did time out, but it did that on Upgrade 2 as well. - That is a Microsoft problem, NOT an SME problem!
After getting the IE timeout, I left the server for a few minutes and then checked to see whether the Blade had installed. It had! So I tried to see whether everything was working.... It was! I then rebooted the server and checked to see whether everything was still working..... It was!
Just what was this blade meant to accomplish anyway?

We're currently trying to reproduce the problem that Bertrand experienced; once that's taken care of, announcements and release notes will appear in the usual places.
(Aside: Please report bugs to bugs@e-smith.com; while we
try to follow these boards, there's never a guarantee that
posts here will reach the right person in a timely manner.)

I have this error when i try to install 'Updates3'
Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /server-manager//cgi-bin/blades.
Reason: Document contains no data
But, the update files is online at ftp.e-smith.org.
-
I try 5 more times and now it's install...
BUT, now Updates2 is not install
SMEServer v5.0 Update 2 SMEServer-5.0_Update2 supported no install
SMEServer v5.0 Update 3 SMEServer-5.0_Update3 supported yes
Is that a bug or what.????
-
Ups, found it...
Since SMEServer-5.0_Update3 supercedes SMEServer-5.0_Update2, installed, the blades panel will report that SMEServer-5.0Update2 is not installed after installing SMEServer-5.0_Update3. This is normal behaviour and does not indicate that the contents of Update2 are no longer present.
-
Alexie:
Yep, you found it :-) But if the blades panel says that Update3 is installed, the
update succeeded. When the proxy (from the standard to the admin httpd) timed
out, the error you saw was one possible manifestation of the large-blades problem
that was fixed in Update2.

Yes, in e-smith-base as they always have been for the released
version.

e-smith-samba is in development for 5.1 Details of that should
be discussed on the devinfo list - it is not yet supported.
This Update is for 5.0

They are included in e-smith-base and your installation of the
"in development" e-smith-samba conflicts with the install, as
it should.

Just installed SP3 Blade without problem.
Client PC Win ME IE 6.
The install did not time out in the browser.
Rebooted afterwards.
All ok.
