installed e-smith on an old dual 233 pentium box...
is ther a hack  for smp or must I compile a new kernal for the box
maually...

Please post questions only to the most relevant forum.

e-smith will detect an SMP capable motherboard and install the SMP
kernel if your hardware is supported by RedHat.

Please note that 4.1beta3 did not install the SMP kernel, but 4.1beta4 does:
