Title: Port Scanner
Post by: Robert Heaton on December 18, 2001, 03:16:11 PM
Hi,

Can anyone reccomend a good port scanner to use to test e-smith 4.1.2/5/5.1 security??
Commercial or GNU it doesn't matter.

Thanks,
Rob.

To test the security.. how would a port scanner do this..

Just in case, I use to use BlueBit's Portscanner.

It tells you which port are open on a IP Address..
It's a start to know if they are to much opened port..

Nmap is the way to go.

My cable user friends and I regularly scan each other to check for open ports
that shouldn't be opened.
