Title: ftpd has stopped responding
Post by: Phil Kay on January 08, 2002, 07:14:59 PM
Is there any way to restart ftpd without rebooting the server?  My ftp has stopped responding.  It disconnects connections immediately.  The webserver works fine, so does mail.  FTP seems to be the only thing not responding.

I want to stop and restart ftp without rebooting the whole server.

Thanks,
Phil

Hello Phil,

You can restart the proftp server with the follow command

/etc/rc.d/init.d/proftpd restart

Look at your screen to catch the error on it, I have heard more stopping proftp server's on E-smith.

Look in this forum list to "Socket operation on non-socket"

Good luck

Johan
