Title: default samba profile
Post by: Darren on January 09, 2002, 08:01:12 AM
Is there any way to create a default profile where if the user logs in for the first time the machine detects that and creates the profile from the default profile.
so in a way

if the user loging in does not have a profile yet
it loads the default profile

and on logout it saves the profile so the user now has a profile.

any ideas

this is more of an Windows-administration question.

to set up a default profile, you'll need to use
 -the policy editor (poledit)
 -enable enable roaming profiles
-save a config.pol file (using poledit) in the netlogon share on sme

poledit comes with each windows-version somewhere in the admin/tools directory on the Window$ installation cdrom.

very carefully RTFMs on poledit and roaming profiles, search the m$ knowledge base on this, as uncarefully use might even lock you out from performing administrative tasks.

good luck,
Bart.
