Title: IMP Domain Aliasing
Post by: Buddy Edwards on January 11, 2002, 06:37:57 PM
I have a problem, I have multiple domains that I am hosting on a SME 5.0 server everything works great except that when a particular user sends mail from IMP it is being tagged with the primary domain name (ie User@kccomputertech.com).  is there a way of making IMP use a different domain name on a per user basis. I would appreciate any help you can give on this.

Have the users changed the "from" address under the Preferences menu in IMP.  The email header will information will still indicate the primary domain, but ppl don't look at them too often anyway.
Hope this helps.

Is there a way to change the default primary name for a user to that of one of the virtual domains? So that even in the header, the users messages appear as thought they are coming from that domain instead of the default e-smith domain?

Is this a qmail thing?  Would be really nice if it were an option in the user details panel:

Primary Domain: [list of domains on system]

I'm having that same problem ...... I host multiple domains also.  My entire user pool is seen in everyones address book and all emails are being tagged with the primary domain name.

Also I can't seem to send email when sending thru my smtp server unless I'm on a machine on the LAN with the server ........
