Title: BigPond Advance login
Post by: Caos on January 12, 2002, 01:47:23 PM
hello every1

i am trying to get an e-smith v5 loged into the bigpond network i am currently on the optus@home cable so i am only familiar with the normal method of getting the server online. How ever, being telstra (australia) and making as dificult as possible for the user, i dont know how to go about setting up the server to login into bpa?

on top of this i am a complete newbie to linux let alone e-smith. could any1 out there tell me what files i need and how to install and set up the server to login to bpa? or does any one know of any good and simple HOWTO sites on the net?

thanks

What you neglected to tell us was whether you're trying with Bigpong cable or Bigpong ADSL... ADSL works out of the box when you select PPPoE as the connection option.  Cable requires another RPM to be installed, and as I'm an ADSL user, as such have NFI... :-)

I've got a copy of the files required for getting e-smith to play nicely with Telstra Bigpond cable if you're interested.

Email me at lzcd@hotmail.com and I'll organise something for you tonight (or whenever).

Regards,
Luke.
