Title: Gigabit ethernet
Post by: Paul van Dun on January 20, 2002, 03:00:56 PM
Hello everyone !!

Is there someone who has a Gigabit NIC based on the National Semicondutor's 83820 chipset running  on 4.12 or 5.1, because the driver disk only contains a RH6.2 driver and with the installation of this driver the message "this driver is compiled for kernel 2.2.12" appears.
And at this moment I can't find a newly compiled driver module. or is it possible to make a new a new driver module.
Second question which RPM's do I need to use the command "make" and the command "gcc" on 5.1Beta3.

Best regards,

I am using the Intel Gigabit card and Darrell compiled the driver for me.  Darrell has on his web site how to add the modules needed to be able to compile the drivers in ver. 5
