My internal www site (intranet) isn'r unning anymore (postnuke)

I had the exact same problem after installing PHP-Nuke. This was some time ago and I don't remember the details, but I think in my case the entire mysql.sock file was gone, but it reappeared after a mysql restart. Or I'm confusing it with another issue. I'm sorry if this is too vague.

Hi Robert,
Thanks! Indeed the file mysql.sock was gone.
Restarting mysql did not help, same problem situation. On stopping mysql it stated [Failed] on starting [OK]
I tryed 'everything' without having to reboot, but....... I HAD to.
After the reboot all worked perfectly again!
I don't know the services depending on mysql or mysql depending on any other service, so I was left with no other option only reboot.
And yes in my case it was also concerning Post-Nuke. Not an new installation but a running site for over a month. All of a sudden I couldn't access the site anymore for the obviuous mysql problem.
Anybody else has any inside info on how to prevent this?
Thanks and regards,
