Title: IDE CD Burner with e-smith 5.0

How can i use an IDE CD Burner with an e-smith server.
I would like to use it with webCDcreator. I have read the manual and it all works fine ... despite that i cannot burn anything.
My Teac Burner is recognised only as CDROM. Do I have to enable SCSI-emulation?? If so how ??? Do i have to change lilo.conf and add hd(x)=ide-scsci ??

Please help..

I just discovered a solution myself that works really great. You may find it under :

and webCDcreator now really works  :-)))))))))))))))))))))))

Hello steve and marcus,
 I tried the webcd creator but cannot get it to burn the cd, it fails on all systems of esmith that i tried with the /dev/null error !!!

anyone of you have been able to get webcd working to writing the cd? if so please let me know the normal installation procedure you used.  Id like to try and compare to see where iwent wrong

Found a better entry for fstab in the info. so now i can mount for reading with it complaining.

Hi all,

Tried to install webCDwriter rpm on SME5.

It fails dependencie towards mpg123 wich is needed.

Can any of you release a very small step by step (mini-how-to) on how to make webcdwriter and webcdcreator work with SME5?

i managed to get the missinf deps from http://rpmfind.net and also managed to get it working at browser level but I still cannot write to cd's as it gives me some /dev/null error !!

anyone have an idea here?

Hi aniston,

1. What's the output of cdrecord -scanbus
2. can you mount with: mount /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom
