Well...just downloaded the ISO and can't wait to get home to play with it tonight...
Quick question, has anyone tried the MP3 blade and System Monitor and Services contrib RPMs? Do they still work?
I couldn't live without the System Monitor or MP3 packages and Services is useful for turning off all those pesky memory stealing bits and pieces like AppleTalk and LDAP and PHP...

The system monitor PHP script stopped working when I upgraded. The MP3 blade works. But Andromeda is a better MP3 PHP script then the blade that is offered with e-smith. Check out my site media.teesco.com User: Guest Password:Guest
And see if you like it better then the MP3 blade.

Well, there's this little bit about how the MP3 blade is free software and Andromeda isn't... Too bad, because it does look very nice.
This isn't really a slam on andromeda, but it seems that it would explain why Mitel doesn't distribute it as a blade.

Andromeda is free ( I am using it and didn't pay a dime) The developer only asks for a donation that you don't have to pay. And actualy the developer asked me about e-smith beacuse I mentioned that maybe that would be a way to get more attention to his product.

I found the services can only be turned on or off using the Text Browser from the SME console or SSH. If you try to turn the services off from the server-manager page in the browser of a remote client it does not work. The form is trying to post to 127.0.0.1.
I don't know if this was the same with SME5 because I did not have the panel loaded.

Cheers guys, after a fight with a (now) unsupported scsi card and then a dead IDE cdrom I finally got installed last night. All seems to be running nice and smoothly except for some reason dyndns.org seems to have dropped the 3 domains I had registered with them in the process of the install :( So I'm sat at work now with no idea what my IP address is at home and I can't test the SSH connectivity.
Had some problems with getting an XP laptop into the domain (see post elsewhere). It's a shame the port-forwarding screen didn't make it into the release, I hope there's an optional blade provided or an updated contrib and the System Monitor is greatly needed too.....
A big thanks to the dev team, great work guys!

Sorry, I probably should have been more clear (perhaps by capitalizing Free). I meant Free Software in the GNU/FSF sense, not in the "do I have to pay to use it" sense. Still, the "non-commercial use" restriction would mean Mitel couldn't distribute it, I'd think...

You are right about that. I thought more about it after I wrote my last post. And that is true. (Maybe they can gleam some ideas to upgrade the MP3 blade from Andromeda?) LOL!

Follow Up:-
Just installed the System Monitor and Port Forwarding contribs onto a clean install of 5.1.2 and they both work perfectly, dunno what the problem is with an upgrade but onto a clean install they're fine.
