Title: Fetchmail Problems on ESSG 4.1.2
Post by: Dean on January 31, 2002, 03:43:59 PM
Hi all

I have been using ESSG for over a year and love it , Anyway I have recently found an error in my maillog which concerns me.

ESSG  fetchmail  nameserver failure while looking for 'fes.de' during poll of 196.22.160.63

what happens is the email is not downloaded and just stays there no matter how many times I run the fetchmail command.

the IP is the ip of my isp pop server

Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it ?

ESSG has all updates applied

Thanks

Dean

Hi,

Maybe a bad connection or time-out on your connection. If the mail is not retrieved, it will stay at your ISP for you to pick up at a later time.

In short, let fetchmail try it at it's regular interval. If the message is comming up too many times then it's time to check your connections, DNS or have a serious talk with your ISP.

In short, it doesn't husrt once in a while, but keep an eye on it :-)
