Title: Public IP not in DNS
Post by: Thomas Svensrud on January 31, 2002, 11:26:09 PM
Hi.
My wife is connecting to a server at her work that is not in the dns system. The ip and servername is in a local host file. This was no problem in e-smith 5 but in 5.1.2 I get this message from Sqid:
The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://xxxxxx/xxxxxx

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for xxxxxxx
The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

Your cache administrator is admin@xxxxx.net.

Any tips?
