Title: IPSec question?
Post by: Lloyd Keen on February 05, 2002, 02:53:08 PM
Finally got my IPSec link up and going today. I can ping net A's external and Internal interfaces from net B and visa-versa but I can't seem to work out how to access a file on Net B's e-smith server. I've tried searching network neighbourhood by name and IP, I've tried the net use.... command and I've also tried setting up a test user on net B and logging off from net A and then trying to log on to net B as that test user (no domain controllers found......) I could probably ftp it down but cause it's a db file I need to open it in multi user mode from net A. Anyone got any hints or tips? I've setup both the local networks and IPSec VPN at both sites ..the only thing I didn't put in the settings for the local network was the router IP but everytime I tried entering an IP I got an error message so I left it blank and it said "using router default"

After entering the local network data, did you go back to the IPSec VPN page and click the "modify" button?

IOW:  Set up IPSEC Route, Set up Local Network, Go back to IPSec and click modify and click OK.

Doing this will open up the firewall and allow IPSec traffic through.

Good luck... I can't even get my IPSec to ping  ;-(
