Title: Lan set up
Post by: Rob Ballew on February 10, 2001, 12:58:29 AM
Just installed mandrake 7.2  (dual Boot WIN ME) behind my e-smith server gateway.  Using dhcp, windows gets all info perfect.  How do I set  it up on Mandrake 7.2.  Pretty new to this whole linux thing but am willing to learn.

There is great site http://mandrakeuser.org/
lots of mandrake specific (and generic too) info.

Good luck!

Don't wish to be critical but this discussion if for e-smith servers. Not mandrake in any form. Please find a forum that addresses mandrake.

Gerald,

If it was a Mandrake only question I would have never posted it here.
The fact that I did not know how to make Mandrake access the internet through my new e-smith server / gateway was the issue.
Sorry to bother you, and take up your valuable time and bandwith...

It seems to me that you are asking how to configure Mandrake to use DHCP for network settings. If that is the case, then the Mandrake documentation is indeed the correct place to seek wisdom.

It should be set up automaticaly, but if it is not then use drakeconf ( or something close to that and set up your lan that way.
