I've got an HP laser printer with a Jet Direct Card (with an IP address of 192.168.1.35).

So, why should I put it in my e-smith server in the manager under "Printers"?

Everyone can print to it just fine.  What are the benefits?

Well,

One benefit is you have a much more powerful machine to hold the spooled print jobs (rather than the buffer that is built into the print server). Should free up your PC quicker too.
