Title: WebMail Problems
Post by: Jack Stevens on February 13, 2001, 02:36:19 AM
Im using e-smith 4.1rc5. Weird problem with webmail?[imp]. Im am modifying the /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue with some scripts. Now that ive done that, All of a sudden whenever im in webmail and try to send an e-mail. It says "Their was an error sending your message".  I didnt modify anything with webmail. I even copied the file back but nothing. How can I find out whats wrong? I check the /var/log/messages files but nothing. Anyway to fix this quickly or things to check for?

The underlying mail system (qmail) is very specific about permissions,
ownership and calling sequences. It is very carefully designed
to be secure, robust and fast.

You have not specified what modifications you made or why, but the
sensible thing would be to put qmail back to the original state and then
raise the reason for and details of these modifications in the Experienced
User Forum.

e-smith 4.1 has been designed so that modifications to qmail should never
be required.
