I have created some spread sheets that I want to make read-only so users who have modified them have to save them under a different name.
If I save them on my windows box (XP), right click, properties, tick read-only, save it works fine.
If I save them on my mitel server, right click, properties, tick read-only, save it I get an error occured, access denied.
What am I doing wrong or what do I have to change to allow me to do this.
(I have tried using my own account and the admin account, both fail)
Thanks
Jon

Once the file is in the share the permissions are governed by the share permissions. An attempt to change them isn't regarded as editing the file but as trying to change the share permissions. How about creating a read-only share to put the documents in?
