Post by: stitch on February 24, 2002, 10:57:34 AM
folks,

How do I enable a groupwise client to connect to a groupwise post office  from behind an sme server? The client connects on port 1677. I have istalled the port forwarding module and set it up as follows:

external port : 1677
dest. port : 1677
dest IP :

Am I on the right track?

cheers,
stitch

Do you mean the client is behind the SME server, and the GW server is outside? If so, you don't need to do anything other than configure the GW client. I have the same setup working OK. If it's the reverse (i.e. GW server behind SME), you'll need to forward the port. Search on the forums for port forwarding - it's a fairly regular topic.

Thanks Des. Yes, my client is behind the SME server and the GW server is outside. So in theory this should work OK. I probably have the GW client misconfigured!
