Title: cdrom drive problem
Post by: Frank on March 05, 2002, 10:31:43 AM
Hi,

With the success installation of SME 5.1.2 on CD, when I try to mount the cdrom drive, system returns an error: "/mnt/cdrom: is not a valid block device". I have checked that the cdrom drive is set to secondary master and BIOS can detect it correctly. Any solutions? TIA.

Regards,
FL

I get the same error on one of my RedHat machines. It is a HP with its own on board IDE channel for the cdrom. I suspect in my case it has something to do with the Linux having the wrong device entry in the fstab file.

Perhaps you are in a similar position.

Regards Duncan.
