Hi,
I've successfully configured ipforwarding on my SME Server in order to host my FTP directory on a computer inside the LAN.
(Thnks again M. Brummel )
But, I've noticed a very bad performance of this solution !!!
Before i set up my SME Server, users accessed the FTP very quickly.....now the should wait 3mn before receiving file list !!!!
I've been told to add my FTP host ip in '/etc/hosts'... but I do not know the format.....
is it:
'SME server local ip:port' 'ftp computer local ip:port'
or is the format
'ftp computer local ip:port' 'ftp.xxx.xxx:port' (xxx.xxx = my domain)
or smthing else ???
Thx in advance :)

Did you try adding your internal server to the the "Hostnames and addresses" list from the server manager? This should imho help.

after verification, I had my hostname and adress already added:
Hostname Visibility (*) Location Local IP Global IP Ethernet address
ftp Local Local xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx none xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
I can't change the visibility since I don't have any permanent Ip adress for internet nor Service Link...
any other idea ?
