Why?  Lack of something?

Double doggie-doo-doo dead....

No response from project owners for many months.  Website disappeared, sponsor site www.c4solutions.net dissappeared.  All gone without so much as a "fare thee well."  I also offered to participate when they reconstituted after the Big IBM Disk Meltdown Episode --- but they never reappeared.

I know they were offered plenty of help, but apparently they simply lost motivation.  Hopefully, they are all out making too much money to be bothered :)

How about:

- They made an effeort
- Where motivated
- At leatst gave it a try/go
- Know what they where doing, looking at the amount of comments/postings
- Had some kind of difficulty...

Call upon them in any kind of way directly will get you more results I think.

Didn't anybody bother to get in touch with them directly while they where there??????

I agree with the opinion that these forums are about e-smith (MITEL SME) but in the light of Open Source and freedom of speech, I welcome the effort of trying to put some life in an equaly minded project. (and a way of getting in touch with the project members). And is is an SME 'fans' related subject.

Uh, I give them a lot of credit for a brilliant idea --- but many, many, many repeated, DIRECT attempts to contact them "while they were there" got no response whatsoever.  It's cool you are coming to their defense and all, except...uh...no one was attacking them or denigrating their efforts.  Just stating the fact that they mysteriously vanished, despite the fact that several contributors on this forum made very real attempts to get involved.

They proposed a great "bleeding edge" for SME to work toward, and many of the things they were working toward are now in, or soon to be in SME.  It's just too bad that energy "went away."

Hi Dan,

Sorry if I sounded too hard, bit I wasn't aware of  the fact that: 'but many, many, many repeated, DIRECT attempts to contact them "while they were there" got no response whatsoever.'

That IS very strange so my assumption was incorrect.

I also had made many attempts at direct contact while they were still there. Directly after the mentioned HD meltdown.

Maybe we should find out what happened to the Axon project first...

If you follow the link below, you can download the files that were released on the aXon Linux 1.0 CD that was available for download as an iso from their site.  The files are copied directly from the CD, so the layout and directories are the same, including binaries and source paclages.  I haven't used this distro, and I make no claims as to the quality or operation of what I am making available.

I am putting this up so that hopefully people can look into the changes and improvements the aXon team made to the e-smith 4.1.2 distro, and maybe find a way to incorporate them into current versions of the SME server.
