Did you set the tape drive to be ide-scsi?
-
I've got that in my /etc/modules.conf (many blank lines at the bigining)
alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
pre-install ide-scsi modprobe ide-cd
Is that what you meen ?
-
At the end of lilo.conf do you have:
append=" hdc=ide-scsi"
hdc, in my case, was the ide tape drive. it needs to be hdx, where x is your tape drive.
NOTE: There is a space after the quote and before the hdc.

How can i know the drive letter of the tape ?
