I, like many others that have posted here cannot get acces to the blades (in particular the latest that fixes the php issue) Does anyone know for sure what the issue is? Some have said that the blades server is just very busy with people updating but I have tried several times and at odd hours and get the same "Could not receive data from blades server" messsage so I don't believe that this is the issue.
I saw a post from someone that said they believed that access to the blades server is limited to paying customers right now. Is this true? I don't have any problem with that (actaully I think it makes perfect sense -gives paying customers another reason to pay) it would just be nice if the notice that was posted made this info available. Actually public info stating that non-cust. will have to wait until paying cust. are updated would probably take a slight load off the server if people knew not to bother trying.
If this is the case I'll just have to manually update to get the fix. (if someone does know the facts about this - is this a temporary thing or will people that do not pay for support never get access to blades again or will it be a "wait X days after paying cust. have access" type thing from now on?)
thanks for any info

Hi Mark,
Although any of the possible scenarios are possible, and the likelihood of the "paying" customers having preferred access is high, you should be aware that the rpm's in the blade are available right from the e-smith ftp site.
For your (and others) convenience, I've included the link right to the update files here:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/5.1.2/Update1/RPMS/
Cheers!

FYI :
I made the update following the blade procedure without any problem.
( 5.1.2 + Blade 1 ). I am using the unsupported version of the server.

Yes, but they are still restricting access... you just got lucky.

Anyway a short info on this subject from Mitel would be nice and healthy for server“s load.. as Mark said... is ok for us waiting some days for the upgrade....
Ale.
