hi all,
i work with e-smith 5.0 as server and gateway and i created a "primary" domain with a dynamic ip which dns is updated by the server. the problem is that i have two virtual domains (also with dynamic ips) but they don´t get updated by the server so they aren´t accessible over the internet....
can anybody help me with his problem?
thanx a lot...

I have the same problem, virtual domains will be showed in the local net but the ip will not be updated at dyndns.org - At the moment this is not a problem for me but i would be interested in a solution.
Im using a t-dsl (adsl) connection in Germany and the SME 5.0/5.12
Dont know much about Perl but there is a $85ip-update script in the /etc/e-smith/ip-change directory. AFAIK it uses the relevant strings from the /home/e-smith/configuration file. There are no entries for the virtual domain in the configuration file. You can find the name of the virtual domain in the home/e-smith/domain file, but there are no informations for the dyndns-login (as you can find them in the configuration-file.
Might be, that several virtual domains will be updated only, when the are registered by the same dyndns-user.
I guess, the above mentioned ip-update file should be modified or all the virtual domains should be registered by the same dyn-dns user. I have not tried this yet
I would appreciate any help

Hi,
i use 2 domains on my office-SME in Germany:
1. office-domain.de is primary domain on sme and hosted at provider.
2. dydns.office-domain.org is virtual domain on sme and hosted on that box.
I use domain 2. for webmail reasons, forwarding external web-traffic and all such with my dyndns-account with no problems. But:
1. I use a static-dns at dyndns.org
2. My provider berlikomm provides a permanent adsl-connection via dhcp.
In the first weeks i had some problems with updating dyndns, because the dynamic dns host did not update.
I solved that by changing to static dns there (not working with t-online, i suggest) and manually updated the ip-adress once via the dyndns webpage.
